The crucial part of this step is to prioritize the functional requirements and developments. We do this through brainstorming sessions that help us create multiple design options. At myProductLab, these first steps are crucial in determining the functionality and success of a product.

Rapid prototyping - Using a variety of 3D printing methods. We rapidly produce your new prototype in order to quickly give you a glimpse of your vision in reality. Going off of the essentials from the previous step. Rapid Prototyping provides you with various designs of the product. However, rarely is the product without flaws during this stage. By quickly printing multiple designs of the product, we ensure timely edits and modifications are made before we move forward to duplication. It is crucial that, in this step, we print and test multiple types of the product to ensure we cut out any issues found in the designs. From here, a problem is very easy to fix without much financial or time loss. By printing in a variety of printing materials, we provide prototypes that, when tested, act very similarly to the finished product. Rapid 3D Prototyping offers a quick and cheap option for forming a prototype that you can be confident with. At the end of the process, a number of prototypes are completed, leaving you, the inventor, with the choice behind which, if not multiple, are chosen.

Small Series Production- Here, your prototype is improved upon in order to give you a glimpse of your final product. We hand finish your prototype by adding paint, spray, or lacquer. With the rapid prototyping finished, a design is decided upon in order to create a working version of our intended “finished product”. Here, a print material is decided, the dimensions are complete, and the most effective rapidly produced prototype is chosen. This prototyping, less concerned with speed and timing, aims to provide a realistic first draft of the finished product. Here, any flaws or misprints are removed entirely as the prototype is continually edited by hand, post printing. Crucially,collected parameters and specifications are met before we move towards a complete, functioning prototype. Edits, made both by hand and through computer software, ensure the functions and requirements decided in the design stages are met and, in some cases, surpassed. The important change in this step, however, is that various edits and versions of the prototype are condensed into the most effective version of the product. Together, through communication, we can make this possible, to give the product every chance of success.

Our design team uses software programs to form the digital version of the chosen concept. Using a mixture of different programs and techniques, the designer uses pixel-based imagery to form exact measurements and dimensions of the product. Keys to a successful digital design is a manageable, easy to use composition. Flexibility of design and composition allows our team to create multiple constructions of the concept. Just as in the Product Concepting step, multiple design options are constructed. These designs are then tinkered and developed to create multiple options chosen in partnership by creator and designer.

Different functions and strengths can be highlighted by each of the design templates. Our digital design experts have a wealth of experience creating templates for 3D printing. The templates, created through sketching design, and slicing processes are optimized for printing with our in-house printers. At the end of our design process, we present you with multiple viable designs ready to be transformed into prototypes.
